About
My name is Dave Evans and I have been a professional software developer for over 10 years. I have had a interest in home automation since 2000. It started with some good ol’ X-10 items. Next a pronto Remote, followed by MainLobby (which I still use) and recently Crestron. I’m hoping to use this site to introduce others to this passion of mine through new products, as well as share experiences I’ve had in the programming/install market whether they be good or bad. And hopefully, I’ll even be able to share some knowledge and help others with the same interests!
As far as the personal life goes, I’ve been married to my beautiful wife Ashley for almost 4 years. I’m sure as you read my posts I’ll make references to her, as well as my father-in-law Jerry, who seem to be my two biggest “testers” when it comes to my automation system. You’ve all heard of WAF, I’d like to introduce FILAF (Father-In-Law Acceptance Factor). For those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting Jerry, he holds nothing back. And while I love him to death, he has been my biggest critic of my system. But just so you know, he has about 10 remotes and nothing goes smoothly with his system, so I have just as many criticisms of his work, which makes it interesting!

Hey Dave,
I run the sales department for Cortexa and I wanted to see if I could drop you a note that you might publish on your site. We just slashed our prices on our Home Automation Controllers and I am trying to get the word out.
Thanks,
Jesse
